Hubby off work = Laziness

So it is so nice to have my husband off work for two weeks during the holidays. But I have found that when he is home I just want to be so lazy and not getting my exercises in like I want to. I think I have only exercised twice in the last two weeks. That is so sad!

I hate it when I get out of my exercising schedule, it is so much harder to get back into it again. I will exercise today!!!! And I won't miss. I honestly can just do my 15-min. workout and be done, it's just getting to that point that seems to be a killer.

And what is it with wanting a diet coke all the time? Probably because I haven't been exercising so my energy is Ka-Put!

Well it is always something that I will have to work on. I really enjoy it, I just hate it when I get into a funk like this.

Hope you haven't gotten into any crazy funk over the holidays. It is so hard to get out of. 15-min. is all it takes. Just put the kids in the playroom and do it fast! It shouldn't be a problem if you haven't showered like me and it is 1pm. Laundry day will do that to ya!

Happy New Year! Enjoy it and get back to work!

Holiday Woes

During the Holidays it is hard to stay on track. But I have found that if I don't deprive myself of the things that I want, I just limit the amount of it, I do so much better. I may gain or maintain my weight, but I am still happy and ready to go full force after enjoying myself.

So don't worry about the holidays. Just enjoy your friends and family, and especially the food. Just remember to moderate how much you eat and just stay active. With Fit Yummy Mummy you only need 15-20 minutes a day. I think that is why I am able to stay consistent.

Good luck and Happy Holidays.

Cold Season

In honor of the wonderful cold I am sporting this week I am going to talk about staying on track while having a cold.

My appetite usually goes down when I am not feeling well, but of course I just want those comfort foods to make me feel better. I have found that I get better so much faster if my body gets the nutrients it needs.

Obviously plenty of fluids, i.e. water, is perfect for flushing that bug right now. Also plenty of sleep. I have a hard time with this one. I find that I want to take a nap during the day, with two kids who can possibly pull this off? But when it comes to going to bed at night I am a sucker for wanting more "ME" time and putting off going to bed to do things that are not possible with two little ones hanging on my legs.

I know you have all heard these things over and over again, but it is nice to get a reminder. I always forget the water and don't realize until I have cotton mouth in the middle of the night, because I can't close my mouth due to the extreme stuffed nose I have.

As far as exercise goes, many times I feel so much better when I do get an exercise in. I over did it yesterday with my exercise. I had a burst of energy and used it all up for the day in that workout. Today I sure felt that and I could only do a walk around the neighborhood, but that did rejuvenate me for the day.

Hope this helps during the cold season for you to stay on track.

Are you concerned about to smoothing away unsightly cellulite?

Then you will want to take a moment to read this special
report my good friend Joey Atlas - author of the Lower
Body Makeover, has sent over to help you defeat the
battle of cellulite.

Joey has some super surprising facts as well as
some action steps you can take NOW that will
make a positive difference in as little as 4 weeks!

------------------------------ --------
The awful truth about cellulite...
submitted by Joey Atlas:
Creator of Naked Beauty
Publisher of The Cellulite Reduction Report
------------------------------ ------------------

Do you know this type of woman?

She looks great in her 'sexy jeans... She looks amazing in a form
fitted skirt... and she actually looks like a 'hottie' in her
workout gear... But when she's naked - she can't stand to look at
her trouble spots in the mirror because of her cellulite...

A bikini is out of the question... the short little dress won't see
the light of day... and her man is only allowed to "see her" with
the lights off...

She doesn't know why she has it. She's heard so many different
'theories'. And she's wasted hundreds, if not, thousands on
supposed 'cellulite treatments' - only to find more disappointment
and frustration when her cellulite got worse, instead of better...

She may have even tried "the gym thing" - doing the same routine
every other members does - again only to find the cellulite is
still there...

She loves her weight, her size and even her shape... All she wants
is to be cellulite free...

Truth be told there is only one proven way to get rid of cellulite.
And yes, it is 'exercise' - but it's not just any old fitness
routine... The effective way to banish cellulite is with a
specifically structured, laser-targeted cellulite reduction
exercise program.

In order for the program to deliver the desired results, it must
include these six principles called, R.E.D.U.C.E.

R.E.D.U.C.E.

1 - Replace all 'weight and machine' lower body exercises with
bodyweight exercises -- this may seem counter-intuitive to the
mainstream 'fitness' approach to cellulite reduction - but its the
main reason why it actually works...

2 - Emphasize the slowness of each repetition - This allows the
whole muscle to be involved and properly engaged in each exercise -
a key to lower body cellulite reduction

3 - Don't get caught up in the 'No pain - no gain' mentality --
this concept forces women to think "doing more is better" which is
not the case. This actually prohibits the desired result of
cellulite reduction and this is also where exercise related
injuries occur...

4 - Utilize 'items' in your home for a complete lower body,
anti-cellulite exercise program -- items such as a cushioned chair
or couch, a firm ottoman, and a pantry step stool are ideal...

5 - Concentrate on moving from one exercise to the next with no
more than 20 seconds between sets -- this is an important element
for the cellulite reduction effect...

6 - Expect visible cellulite reduction to start within 2 - 3 weeks
if you get your lower body sessions in three times per week (some
women can get away with just two sessions per week).

It is widely know that cellulite affects women of all ages, body
types, and body weights.

Unfortunately this allows for a lot of unscrupulous marketers of
'hyped up' products, to take advantage of desperate and hopeful
women. They employ sneaky advertising tactics that prey on the
emotional pain of this large target market - bringing in hundreds
of millions of dollars in profits year after year - WITHOUT
delivering the promised results...

But even when a woman tries the 'exercise' approach to cellulite
reduction - she usually falls victim of simply not being on a
cellulite-specific exercise program... Hence perpetuating her
constant battle with all the ways her cellulite affects her daily
life, attitude and happiness...

If you've "tried everything" with no results to show for your
efforts -take a close look at your exercise program (if you are on
one right now) and see how you can incorporate the principles of
R.E.D.U.C.E. outlined above.

Most of all just be aware that the only way to get rid of the
'orange peel' look of your 'problem zones' is by proper stimulation
of the muscles directly beneath your cellulite areas - not with
some 'bodybuilder' routine, not with a magical rub-on cream and not
with a vibrating toxin releasing massage treatment.

Get Your Sexy Back: Lasting Fat Loss Results

A Year in the Life of a Fit Yummy Mummy
“I started this journey because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
It was either go on medication or change my lifestyle. I didn’t want to go on meds.

About 6 years ago when I got pregnant with my first child, I gained 55 lbs and weighed 200lbs when I had her. I worked out for awhile and lost the weight, then got pregnant again. I gained another 55 lbs and lost most of it after having my second girl. I really didn’t like how I looked or felt but I wasn’t in the place or mind frame to change.

Long story short, I went on an internet search and found you and Fit Yummy Mummy.

I was initially seeking a workout plan and some information on healthy eating. I signed up for a teleseminar on health and fitness, and that’s where I meet Holly!

I listened as she explained about her Fit Yummy Mummy program and was intrigued….

Would this work for me?
I was skeptical.

Then one of the host of the teleseminar said …”I don’t care who’s program you do just pick one and do it!”

So, I picked Fit Yummy Mummy!

I worked out doing Holly’s program for about 2 weeks and lost 4lbs and dropped some inches! I continued to use Holly’s workout program except for 2 weeks during the holidays and lost 7 more lbs and some more inches.

I was feeling good about my progress but still wasn’t convinced this was a program for the long haul.

Then one day I got an email from Holly inviting me to join her on Club FYM and join the Spring Transformation Challenge.

I thought why not! This could be good. I never thought it would be life changing GOOD!

The first 5 of the 12 weeks emotional ones!

Why were they so emotional?

Because I wasn’t following what Holly had laid out!

I was following the workouts, that was easy. I never missed a workout, not 1 during the 12 weeks!

The nutrition part was the hard part!

How do I eat healthy?
What do I eat?
What are carbs?
What does a balanced meal look like?
What brand of foods do i eat? Is this healthy?

My questions were endless, I was overwhelmed.

I simply freaked out!

I posted a question on ClubFYM and the support and responses were
wonderful. Some Club members gave me advice, told me to start slow,
follow Holly’s plan, ect, one member (Sheri) even took it one step
further and shared a list of foods she liked to eat.

Oh how wonderful this was!

I had found a place where there were women just like me going through the same things I was.

They had questions I had.
I could relate to these women!

Now that was huge for me because I never thought I was like other women, I certainly didn’t think I would find people on the internet I could call my friends!

~~~~~This second Transformation Challenge was a different story~~~~~~
No one was complimenting me like they had during my 1st 12 weeks experience.
My motivation was down but not gone, I felt invisible again and I forgot why I had started this journey in the first place.
I continued to do the workouts(haven’t missed one since starting except for the 12 week breaks). I ate as supportively as I could, yes there is room for improvement there.
I just went through the motions of what I thought I should be doing.
A light bulb moment came after reading a post on Club FYM, by Cory….a quote “It is never to late to become the person you could have been”
That quote has stuck with me and as I reflect back I know why.
You see I started Fit Yummy Mummy way back in November of 2007, just one year ago.
During that time I keep saying to my self well if you would have done everything Holly laid out for you you would already be at your goal, (should have could have would of you know). I now realize that this was and is negative self talk and toxic.
As I read success stories, I find one common theme and that is these women have changed their mindset.
They fully embrace this as a lifestyle change, not just something to do to take weight off.
I know, I know this is not a new concept here on Club FYM, but, for me it is just now all coming together like pieces of a puzzle!
To get the results you are looking for you must have 3 things in place, do the workouts, eat supportively and have a positive mindset. If you do not have 1 of these pieces of the puzzle you truly will never reach your goals. I believe mindset is the most powerful.
The most important things I have taken away from the year is….
~ Yes you have to workout, increase the weight and challenge yourself.
~ You have to change your diet, my diet is by no means 100% or even 90% but it’s a lot better than it used to be.
My biggest difference makers….cutting out the Pepsi and eating supportively every 3 hours are what really let me lose the weight early on.
Now it is just daily choices of eating supportively, eating veggies, drinking water, and having planned indulgences.
~ You have to stay Consistent and Patient.
These are so hard to do, my journey was a roller coaster, one day rejoicing because I lost inches the next disappointment because nothing.
~ Blogging for support
or to simply celebrate having a a GREAT Day helps keep the motivation going.
~ But the most important part is a change in mindset.
You have to quite all the negative talk, start seeing yourself the way others see you, and truly believe in yourself.
This is where Club FYM comes in.
I did not join Club FYM until I started the 1st Transformation Challenge in February of 2008.
What Club FYM has done for me is it helps me to know that I am not alone in this journey.
There is always someone who posts something that will inspire, someone who asked that same question I have or if I have a question someone will answer. It about a real sense of belonging, friendships and family.
I don’t have anyone else around me going through this journey, so to have the support of this online community, is wonderful. I didn’t know how beneficial this community was when started out on my Fit Yummy Mummy journey.
Now my only regret is that I didn’t join sooner.
I am a veteran Fit Yummy Mummy but that by no means makes me know everything. I am constantly learning, learning new stuff about myself, about the program and trying to improve.
I have 1 year under my belt, but, I have a lifetime on my journey to Yummy-ness.
I have gained self confidence, self esteem and got my sexy back!!
I have gained knowledge, strength and have found energy.
I can chase my girls around, race them and not have to say “no more girls mommy is tired”
I don’t have to beg my 3 year old to take a nap so I can too!
I am in a good mood most days. I feel great!
Nov 1, 2007……..Nov 2008
height: 5′ 4.5″
weight:147………..117
hips:37 1/4″………35″
waist:35…………27 1/4
thighs:23″………21 1/2
body fat %:?……….19.3%
30 lbs lost, 20+inches lost(more inches lost where I didn’t measure!)
I have done an awesome job of transforming my body!
I haven’t looked this good since I played soccer in high school. Now, when I look in the mirror I truly see the person I have become and not the old 147lb woman I used to be.
I am a FIT YUMMY MUMMY!
So Holly, I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for putting this program together and for your daily support and encouragement on Club FYM.
You have put something together that is not only truly unique but also something that is very effective and life changing.”
Sincerely,
Shawndala Arias, Age 35, Mom of Two ages 3 and 6, CO
Transformation Challenge Update
So I didn't win the transformation challenge, but I am still happy to be a finalist.
My own reward for the Summer Transformation Challenge was to go on a trip to San Francisco and visit my sister Julie. We played, shopped, ate and just had great girl time. It was nice to get away for five days!
I am now enrolled in the unofficial 6 Week Holiday Challenge with FYM. Started it the day I left for my trip. Didn't do so well with the eating, but I did exercise three out of the five days I was gone. So Hurray for that!
Hope you are all getting ready for the holidays and excited as I am.
Thanks to all who voted for me. I truly appreciate it!
51 and Back into a Size 4 - even after 8 kids!
“I did not think it was possible at age 51 after having 8 children, to feel this good!” ~ Deb Yurchack
“These last 12 weeks have truly been a transformation for me.
When I found Fit Yummy Mummy I was completely worn out.
Physically I was feeling the effects of birthing and parenting 8 children, compounded by middle age and menopause. Spiritually I felt dull and lifeless. Emotionally I felt spent. I was lacking energy on every level. The many aspects of my life seemed all tangled like a ball of string.”
(I met had the pleasure of meeting Deb and 10 more Fit Yummy Mummy’s this past weekend for a Shopping Trip in Dayton, OH. This was my second meeting with Deb - and this time around SHE is the Success Story!~ Holly)
See Deb’s Video Two Minute Testimonial on Below!
“As soon as I would decide to tackle one thing, something more urgent would pop up and I just couldn’t sort out the jumble that resulted. Meanwhile people would tell me “I just don’t know how you do it all”. And I would think, “I don’t—if you only knew!” The frustration was deep and the self-talk very negative. Fit Yummy Mummy provided the end of the string that I could grab, hang on to, and begin to untangle.
When I committed to the STC, some things had calmed down a bit (homeschool, kids’ schedules), and some things I was neglecting (my business, my house), but I decided that if I didn’t do anything else, I would do this! And some days that was about it! I would get dressed to work out and wear my workout clothes all day (no shower—gross!) but at some point, I DID get the workout done!
Although summer afforded me a little more freedom in the schedule, it also presented challenges of travel and situations that equaled food—and not the supportive kind (mom’s house, vacation, etc.)! With the constant encouragement of Club FYM I was able to make a plan that really would work for exercise and food, and—miracle of miracles—stick to it!!
By the time I had persevered through the summer traveling, especially vacation with workouts and supportive food, I was feeling changes on all levels: physically more energetic, spiritually more vibrant, and emotionally MUCH more positive and resilient. The ball was rolling!!
I started feeling better physically: the weird skin patches on my hips disappeared, my back started stabilizing (chiropractor noticed), I could go down the stairs without holding the railing, I could lower myself into a chair instead of plopping, and I could take off my sneakers without sitting down, in fact I could stand on one foot to untie and remove the other shoe!!
I started feeling better spiritually and emotionally: I started returning phone calls again, I found myself encouraging others with more positive affirmations, I smiled more, I even started getting up and making breakfast for my husband regularly! And all that was just the beginning.
Three years ago I took off my wedding rings because they were too tight. I did not expect to ever get them back on again, after all they are size 4-3/4, that’s unrealistic now. NOT SO—On Sept. 10 I got them back on and they fit great, they are not stuck! About that same time 3 years ago, my toes started looking weird to me and I also started living with the awful feeling of a roll around my middle and a crease in my back. My toes are back to normal (it was fat) , the roll is much smaller and the creases are gone! I had started wearing L underwear (VSC) because, you know, they size it so small now—but now it’s all baggy!!
I bought some jeans at the second hand store last week, they were 2 sizes smaller than the ones in my closet!
After 12 weeks things are moving in the right direction. I’ve got traction and momentum!
Now I’m ready to strengthen my relationships, clean my house, shape up my school, and pick up the pieces of my broken business.
I feel a jubilation and excitement that I thought was gone forever!
I did not think it was possible at age 51 after having 8 children, to feel this good!
Trick or Tabatas: Halloween Cardio for Fast Fat Loss
Here’s a fun way vamp up your cardio session and enjoy the challenge of interval training workouts as you take a break from having to watch the clock…Halloween bonus soundtrack does it all for you!
This exclusive Halloween bonus features a 20 minute Tabata-Style interval training soundtrack that tells you when to start, stop, andeven provides you with countdowns and updates to keep you focused on the task at hand.
Great, but What the heck are Tabatas?
Tabatas are 4 minutes of high-intensity interval training: you alternate between 20 seconds of work and 10 s of rest for a total of eight times for a fat-smashing four-minute workout.
This training protocol is based on a breakthrough Japanese scientists used to compare the effects of only 4 minutes of high-intensity interval training to a slow, long 60-minute steady-state aerobic alternative. Findings prove greater fat loss and greater improvements in overall conditioning with the following 4-minute interval routine versus the full hour of aerobics!
BJ Gaddor creator of workoutmuse soundtracks, offered this hearty Halloween bonus in celebration of the fact that we are working together to create Fit Yummy Mummy Interval soundtracks - complete with my voice! So a little taste of what is to come and something to help kick off the holidays!
When it comes to your cardio…
It’s not about time…
It’s not about how many calories a machine “says” you burned…
IT’S ALL ABOUT INTENSITY!
Access your FREE Fit Yummy Mummy Halloween Tabatas by logging in to ClubFYM.com Today!
Click Here => ClubFYM.com
These are my favorite moves to use during Tabatas
1. Jumping Jacks
2. Jump Rope
3. Body weight Squats
4. Burpees
BJ suggests to get creative and incorporate a pumpkin!
Why not try..
~ Pumpkin Squats
~ Pumpkin Planks
~ Pumpkin Woodchops
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This form of cardio is super challenging. If you are new to intervals,
please start out at an intensity that is appropriate to your fitness
level. As always, consult your physician before beginning a new fitness
plan.
How to Eat for Fat Loss on a Budget
Supportive Food CAN Cost Less
Let me ask you this…If you are not spending your money on foods that improve your health, increase your energy and decrease your waist line- What are you spending your money on?
Under the assumption that a supportive eating requires expensive food?
I’d like to ask you to reconsider.
Especially at this time with our economy, many believe that cutting back on food costs means that you can’t afford to buy healthy food anymore.
Well with the tips and strategies I am about to share, I challenge you to make a list and load up your cart with REAL food. Nothing processed or fake and see what a difference it can make.
The secret to saving is….
To Think Outside of the “Box”
Replace the “boxed and bagged” processed carb’s and fake foods (cookies, candy, crackers, bars, instant meal deals) with fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables and a “splash” of real protein.
This is the most simple and best adjustment you can make that in a matter of weeks will lead to a loss of inches- not money.
Consider these alternatives:
Cost of a Protein Bar: $2 - $3 vs. Cost of an apple: $.50
Cost of Mac-n-Cheese: $.99 - feeds 1 to 2 (easy to just eat the whole box) vs. Cost of a Can of Black Beans: $.50
Cost of a Bag of Chips: $3 -$4 vs. Cost of a Bag of Baby Carrots: $1.50
Cost of a Box of Crackers: $3 - $4 vs. Cost of a Bag of Spinach: $1.50
Bunch of Chex Mix Packages (2): $3 vs. Bunch of Bananas (5): $1.50
A Can of Chili: $1.59 vs. A Can of Tuna: $.97
Cost of frozen meals:: $2 - $5 a meal - feeds you once, leaves you hungry for more
vs.
Cost of a Bag of frozen Chicken Breasts: $6 - $8
Cost of a Bag of Frozen Veggies: $.75 - $1.50
Both of which can create 4 to 5 meals
See where I am going with this?
Where to Shop? What to look for? Holly’s Tips!
You all know the tip to shop the perimeter of the store, this is where you find your REAL Foods. Once you start going up and down the aisles - or even grabbing what is strategically placed at the end of the aisles, you run into the problem or buying the foods that do not help you - in the pocket or in the jeans which the pocket is attached.
Sure - “Whole Foods” type groceries offer higher quality and organic foods, and I agree the cost of these foods can add up. However, there is no reason why you cannot make better choices with the foods you are buying in your regular old grocery store.
I LOVE to shop at the discount grocery - Aldi - this is where the fresh fruits and veggies are so cheap!
Take a peek at my receipt from this week’s trip to Aldi’s
I spent about $58 and of that under $9.00 on Fresh Fruits and Veggies.
This will last “me” at least a week - and I feed a family of 3, work at home with my husband, and pack a lunch every day for my son.
I choose a variety of fresh and frozen fruits and veggies and a few protein options. That’s it - I keep it simple. Keeps the cost down and meal planning a breeze.
I do make it to a mainstream grocery once a week or once every two weeks. Reason I go to Kroger is to grab up my favorite yogurt - a greek style yogurt at that!- Organic milk singles, fresh herbs, deli meat, Bob’s Red Mill rolled oats…basically anything more “name brand” - oh and also like to scout out discounted fruits and veggies - love finding a bag of fresh sugar snap peas st 1/2 the cost!
Yes, Supportive Food Is Just as Simple
Sure, your typical convenience foods (granola bars, crackers, pizza, frozen dinners, etc) are EASY - and most of us are holding on to the belief that it takes hours of our time to prepare a healthy meal.
Eating supportive foods is a lot easier than it sounds. Many of the supportive grab and go options - require NO cook or prep time at all!
How about a bowl of baby carrots and hummus?
Or an apple and peanut butter - or if you are super short on time, no need to add the hassle of pulling out a knife - apples are great to eat as is. Now the peanut butter on the other hand, you will have to pull out a spoon and watch the portion size you scoop out - but really this takes all a matter of 1-2 minutes.
What about a tuna wrap?
Open a can, mix it up with some salsa, throw it in a wrap with a couple veggies, roll and eat.
But what about Dinner?
Dinner can be just as easy.
For dinner, I prepare a protein with lots of vegetables and/or fruit.
Cooking protein takes minutes, steaming veggies takes minutes, eating raw fruits/veggies takes ZERO time to prep and cook.
The REAL Secret to making all of this sound so simple?
Plan it out ahead of time! Takes mere minutes of your busy day.
My Challenge to You
I gave you a LOT to think about, didn’t I!
Take this challenge when you are ready.
Why not submit your healthy food alternative meals below with a reason why these foods are less expensive and I will take a few and turn them around to show you how you can make them fit into your budget - with the foods that help you FIT into your Skinny Jeans!
Have Fun!
I look forward to your ideas!
Lunges with Weights
I have been doing lunges with almost every workout since starting Fit Yummy Mummy. Yesterday I did a new exercise from Holly that added weights to the lunges. I had two 10-lbs. weights and let me tell you that I haven't felt my butt sore for quite a while like this. It is awesome!
I guess my body has gotten used to my regular lunges and I just needed a little weight to boost my exercises.
So if you are not feeling it like you might want to, just add a few weights and see the difference. I sure do!
Shopping In My Own Closet!
The thought of my ideal self is a young, fit lifeguard at the pool with a perfect tan, no stretch marks, and not a care in the world. I thought that young girl was long gone. In a way she is, but in another way I got her back, at least the body! I am happy for having people, my children, to care for and worry about. That is the one thing I never want to change.
Upon starting this challenge I was all in, and doing awesome. I even stayed religiously within my calories for three weeks. I actually went to a girls’ night with my own yogurt and granola in Tupperware for my treat. I think my downfall was doing too much too soon. I fell off the wagon, and I fell back into my fat girl mindset of eating. I still exercised everyday, but my nutrition was anything but perfect.
I was slowly able to add one thing and take out another from my diet, and it started to come together. I was losing weight and inches, and my energy was through the roof at times.
I made a vision board, which has been wonderful for me. The things on my board that I have achieved/accumulated are: dishwasher, minivan, a “cleaner” house, spending more quality time with my kids and I have made the time in my life to be more spiritual, not to mention the fitness goals that I have achieved.
I believe that in making sure all other aspects in my life are where they should be, I was able to make my fitness and nutrition goals fall right in line with everything else.
About three weeks ago I was able to fit in my skinny jeans! Something I thought would not be possible. I even gave into the thought that I would just be like this for the rest of my life and I should just deal with it. Then I found FYM and the strength and knowledge, and the most important, support.
Now my goals were to lose 15-20 lbs. Well I achieved 10 lbs. And that put me at pre-pregnancy weight! I was ecstatic!
I was even able to go shopping in my own closet again. I have had this cute green, wrap-around dress hanging at the back of my closet, staring at me everyday. I got the guts and wore it to church. I have to say that I was very pleased with the results.
The day I put on my skinny jeans, I got brave and tried on some other clothes and I couldn’t believe something like that would make me cry, but I was utterly happy! I even was singing Holly’s praises around my house. Thanks Holly and the FYM Family!
I began to have more choices of what to wear and people were even giving me compliments. They were saying that I looked great, when they used to say, “you look great for having two kids.” Please, that just says to me that I am still a little chubby, but not as fat as I could be, so congrats on that.
I am very happy with my results and I am planning on continuing with my goals and getting even sexier.
The best part is that I was able to play soccer with my son without telling him that mommy was tired and could only play 5 minutes.
This journey doesn’t end here; it is a life long experience that can either be a constant struggle or a joy. I choose for it to be my joy. I hope you do as well. Spread the joy of FYM! And congrats to all those who are still working on their goals to be the best Fit Yummy Mummy possible.
I think I can say it now: I AM A FIT YUMMY MUMMY!!!
Jump Rope - Feel like a kid again!
Cardio intervals is where it is at. Pump up your cardio with bursts of jumping rope.
My workout today consisted of weights using six different exercises, three Supersets, two weight strengthening exercises in each Supersets. You do each superset 3 times each, with a warm-up and cool-down (stretching).
I then did my cardio. Rotating between my elliptical machine, 3 min. warm-up, and bursts of jump rope cardio. I could barely do 40 reps/jumps before my legs would give out. I would then do the elliptical for 1-2 min. in between each jump rope set, for a total of six sets.
This was a wonderful change to my cardio, not to mention that the jumping has been said to help with those problem saddlebags we all seem to get as gravity takes it toll.
So go to your kids room, find a jump rope, and have fun while doing your cardio interval sets.
Small changes add up to BIG results!
Small changes add up to BIG results!
Well I am about to show you why.
Did you know that the nutrition rules you
break each and every day can add up to
prevent you from ever making progress with
your fat loss goals?
Exercise aside - you simply cannot discount
the eating habits that cause your body to either
be in fat burning mode or fat storage mode.
Time to STOP breaking these rules
- fire up your metabolism and
- get on the Fast Track to Results once again!
STOP Breaking these TOP 5 Nutrition Rules
1. Drinking your calories
Do you drink soda, juice, milk, sports drinks,
coffee - all day long?
This is the #1 source for instant, high calorie intake.
Plus many of these drinks are loaded with sugar.
2. Not Drinking Water
Replace some of the high calorie beverages above
with pure water and you will not only save yourself
the calories, you will vamp up your metabolism!
3. Skipping Meals
Eating once or twice a day is the best way to slow
your metabolism to a fat storing Halt! In order
to burn more fat, you must supply your body
with a consistent fuel source - ideally eating every
3 to 4 hours.
4. Not Meal Planning
Without a having a plan of what to eat you will
find yourself either skipping meals - Rule #3 - or
turning to high calorie, low nutrition convenience
foods.
5. Late Night Snacking
This is without a doubt the #1 concern of many
women in ClubFYM.com
There is nothing more crushing to a woman's fat
loss plan than the urge to eat at night. All the day's
"good deeds" can vanish within minutes of the
munchies.
Now that you are aware of the daily nutrition culprits
you can begin to turn your fat loss results around.
When viewed in this fashion, it really is the small
changes that add up. Make a commitment to refuse
to break these rules and not only will you save yourself
a ton of fat storing calories, you will turn your
metabolism around - vamping it up to see even
faster results!
12 Week Transformation Challenge
I am now coming to an end of my 12 week transformation challenge with Fit Yummy Mummy. I have reached many of my goals and after this challenge is over I will continue with my exercise and nutrition.
Believe me I'm not perfect, if I was I think I would have reached my goals and more. I even had a few pieces of pizza last night and popcorn and a candy bar (I am a sucker for the Take 5 ones). But I don't eat like that everyday, so when I do I don't feel as bad. Plus I make sure that I don't overdo it, because if I do I am paying for it the next day.
I would still like to lose 5 - 10 lbs. but I can be happy with the goals I have accomplished so far. I've lose 10 lbs. and a lot of inches, which I will measure soon along with posting before and after pictures.
All of this and more coming soon...
Fit Yummy Mummy - What is it?
Fit Yummy Mummy Review
What Is It?
This lifestyle program for busy moms is a comprehensive guide to what’s arguably the most widespread, challenging and frustrating issue faced by moms today: how to get their pre-baby body back. For almost all mothers the changes their bodies incur during pregnancy coupled with the countless responsibilities that motherhood bring spell trouble for regaining their pre-pregnancy figure.
There is no shortage of fitness, diet and fat loss products on the market today. You can find a veritable library of conflicting arguments almost anywhere you choose to seek information on the subject of fitness for women, whether it’s online, at your local library, through contact with personal trainers, or through the (less reputable but nevertheless very common) ranks of wannabe experts: aka, those frustrating people with no qualifications and no practical experience but are self professed experts because they ready the last issue of Shape magazine.
What Sets This Product Apart?
After months of frustration spent trawling through the mass of conflicting information on fitness and fat loss, it was with a mixture of joy and near-tearful relief that I stumbled across “Fit Yummy Mummy”, by Holly Rigsby. As the title suggests, this product is specifically for moms wanting to get fit. Literally all aspects of losing fat and getting fit are covered – and the best part is that it is written specifically for busy moms. The material is presented in a manner both chatty and educational – it’s kind of like having a friendly conversation with a close friend that happens to be a fitness expert (with the added benefit of being able to refresh your understanding of the matter at any given time, simply by scrolling back to the relevant section!)
The tone of the book presents a welcome contrast to the other fitness products so freely available elsewhere on the Net: it’s friendly, understanding of the unique situations moms face, informative, and above all, commonsensical. No unrealistic recommendations, 2 hour workouts, or zero-carb diets here: it doesn’t take long to see that this lady knows what she’s talking about when it comes to mom’s lifestyles (and did I mention she’s a mom too?)
What’s Actually Included?
There’s a quick section on getting started and goal setting along with some morale-boosting advice on how to stay on track throughout the program, and then it’s straight into an action plan to get you started on the path to burning baby fat and getting your body back.
The Supportive Nutrition Plan is next – this is particularly helpful! Every conceivable nutrition issue is covered, from how often you should eat to what you should keep in your pantry. And on top of that, it includes a ‘Create a Menu Planner’ to guide you in creating every meal to support your success.
Next, the Fit Yummy Mummy fat loss workouts are covered, but not without easy to follow explanations of the why’s and the how’s for every part of the workout program. The workout plan even offers four different formats that you can plug into your lifestyle, something not found in any of the cookie cutter fat loss programs on the market. My favorite part of the workout section is that regardless of your exercise (or lack of exercise) background, there is a workout designed specifically for you. And no matter what you fitness level is, none of the workout programs require more than 90 minutes a week.
Finally, there’s a section called the Busy Mom’s Fat Loss Companion crammed with easy to use tools and resources like a goal setting sheet, fitness journal, exercise descriptions and even a ready made grocery list. The author has figured out every excuse and obstacle busy moms have and addressed them all.
Just Because It’s Detailed Doesn’t Mean It’s Confusing
Sound overwhelming? It’s actually very user-friendly. Not only is this e-book packed with sound practical advice and the whole thing is laid out in a very logical and easy-to-understand format, but it comes with a Quick Start Guide to make sure you start acting (and seeing results) fast. The tone of Fit Yummy Mummy light and non-threatening (no scientific terminology here!) and it proceeds in a logical manner from step to step, with plenty of photos and descriptions to ensure that you are doing everything right.
Troubleshooting
In my opinion, one of the best parts: a follow up e-mail coaching series from the author that keeps you on track, gives you daily fitness tips and even healthy recipes. While most moms have the best of intentions, staying on track is tough. This follow up e-mail coaching series is the perfect solution.
The Verdict
Regaining their pre-pregnancy body is a daunting task for most moms, but the author’s personal experience and hands on work with over 250 moms is pretty reassuring; and she certainly knows how to break it down for even the most exercise illiterate. In addition to the main features detailed above, there are plenty of valuable extras included to make getting your pre-baby body back as easy as possible: checklists, do’s and don’ts, printable workout sheets, even ready to follow meal plans!
All in all, two thumbs up from me: when the information on hand is as detailed, easy to absorb, and - above all – reliable as Fit Yummy Mummy, you really can’t go wrong.
The Perfect Time to Begin you Fat Loss Progam
The Perfect Time to Begin your Fat Loss Program
By Holly Rigsby, CPT
www.FitYummyMummy.com
"I'll Begin When...."
Sound familiar? Waiting for the right time to begin your fat loss program?
I'm wondering something....
What is the magic in waiting?
What do you expect will suddenly be different one week, two weeks, a month from now?
As Busy Moms - there will always be too much to do. And guess what....there is no “perfect time” - except the time that you can take RIGHT NOW - to make a firm decision to begin something that is Overflowing with benefits into your life and the lives of your family.
If I told you that you could...
~ Have more energy
~ Eliminate cravings
~ Dramatically reduce stress
~ Drop a Jean Size
~ Feel good about yourself again
Would you smile, look me in the eye and say...."No thanks, not right now, the time just isn't right" Huh...?
If not now -to Look and Feel great.... then when? And when that time arrives....what is to prevent you from making the exact same statement? Then you look up to find another year has passed!
So what are you hoping to accomplish by putting off what you deserve to have right now?
It is quite unfortunate that during the holiday season, on the cusp of the New Year where "resolutioners" come out of their sedentary lifestyles for a brief moment as they promise..."This time I will lose weight" - only to find themselves defeated yet again as they quickly revert back to old habits.
It's pretty obvious that this approach just does not work. Taking the easy route, the route that allows us to stay with unsupportive, familiar habits is giving us nothing in return - in fact it is draining and taking away your 3 sources power ... your valuable time, money and energy.
Super Busy Mom, Sarah Z. came to an amazing realization...
"One of the things that has been holding me back was needing to feel like everything was 'in place' (more or less) before I took the time to exercise.
I felt like I had to 'have time' to exercise.
Nope, I've got to make time, I know...but now I know what that really means.
It means making time to do it REGARDLESS OF THE CHAOS around me. I am now starting to visualize a messy house (not too hard :) a stack of piles waiting for me -- and me exercising anyway -- and then tacking all that stuff AFTER I've exercised."
This is a brilliant realization and one you need to take to heart, moms.
"Your actions express your priorities"
What statement are you making about what matters most to you if you put it on the back burner?
Moms - It's Time! Time to make your health and fitness, your ability to reclaim your pre-baby body, your ability to look in the mirror and feel good about what you see a Priority starting today. Fit Yummy Mummy is your solution to putting your priorities into action.
